Singapore's 'King of Swing' Jeremy Monteiro returns home to Fairmont Singapore. Be enthralled by the wistful artistry of the critically-acclaimed and world-renowned Jazz pianist, singer and composer as he performs at INK Club Bar from 16 January 2010, colouring the lion city's vibrant evenings with his classy shades of rhythm and blues. Jeremy Monteiro and friends, Tama Goh (drums), Brian Benson (bass) and Andrew Lim (guitar) bring the finest collection of Jazz music as they take up new residency at INK Club Bar, located at Level 1 of Fairmont Singapore.

ABOUT JEREMY MONTEIRO

Regarded as one of the foremost Jazz pianists in Asia, Jeremy launched his international career in 1988 playing on the main stage of the Montreux Jazz with his group "Monteiro, Young & Holt". A consummate musician, the Jazz aficionado has been in the business for the last 32 years. He has racked up over 20 Jazz albums as leader and has played on numerous Jazz albums by other renowned Jazz artists, including one by Grammy Award-winning Jazz saxophonist Ernie Watts, which he also produced.

Besides leading his own straight-ahead Jazz bands and being a member of the Terumasa Hino's Asian Jazz All-Stars, he formed his ethno-fusion Jazz band Asiansa in 1992 to play in the opening act for Simon & Garfunkel. He also played keyboards for Simon & Garfunkel in 1993 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. In 2008, Jeremy was featured on the legendary pianist Marian Mc Partland's NPR radio programme Piano Jazz, which was broadcasted all over North America.

Jeremy is visiting chair of Jazz & Professor at LASALLE College of the Arts in Singapore, Fellow of the London College of Music, and Fellow of the Royal Society for the encouragement of the Arts, Manufactures and Commerce. He has also been awarded the Cultural Medallion, being the first Jazz musician in Singapore to receive this accolade. Throughout his career, he has had the privilege of performing with Jazz luminaries including James Moody, Jimmy Cobb, Toots Thielemans, Marian McPartland, Bobby McFerrin, Michael Brecker, Ernie Watts, Matt Monro and Cassandra Wilson.
